With this study program we hope to learn the techniques and transfer the technology of in vitro culture. This technology appears to us of prime importance for characterisation of indigenous AMF species in Cuba and for he development of biofertilizer products.

The improved management of soil biota and its diversity contributes both to the needs of cuban farmers, specially in maintaining productivity and increasing returns from labor and other inputs, and to national interest through maintaining a healthy and well functioning ecosystems in term of water quality and preventing erosion and land degradation.

There is a serious need to improved recognition of these multiple benefits an to promote actions that maintain/enhance soil biodiversity and its vital and valuable functions.
